Prepare for the Next Generations By Pastor YoungJoon Park December 14, 2008 I. Review Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing anew thing! Now it springs up;do you not perceive it? I am making a wayin the desert and streams in the wasteland. (NIV) 1. The Genealogyof Jesus Genesis 3:15 And I will putenmity Between youand the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on thehead, and you shall bruise Him on the heel." Genesis 4:16-5:32:& 10:-11: Men's genealogy,Sinners' genealogy, Genealogy of death 1)The generation of murderer, Cain 2)The new generation of Seth 3)The new generation of Noah Matthew 1:1-17 & Luke 3:23-38 Matthew 1:1-17 The genealogy of King's Family of Judah as thechosen generation It is started from Abraham to Jesus. Luke 3:23-38 The genealogy of Royal family of Judah asthe chosen generation The genealogy of the woman's seed It is started from Jesus to God 2. Mary andJoseph Mary (Mariva): Fat One,Beloved – Mother of the Lord Jesus Christ A descendant of Nathan who is David's son from Bathsheba Nathan who is Solomon's brother She is the woman who was prophesied by the Lord in Genesis 3:15 God emerged her from Nathan's descendant. Maria in Greek, Miriam (fat One, the wished-for child)in Hebrew Joseph (He will add) From King David's son Solomon who is Nathan's brother God emerged him from Solomon's descendant. David (Dauivd): Beloved One Mary and Joseph are both David's descendant. God chose Joseph and Mary as a chosenemerging generation to put together of King David's generation as One. God is going to emerge the godly andcommitted people who are nameless and faceless from the Woman's seedcontinually today. The Woman's seed is Jesus Christ, and we are Jesus'generation and His emerging generation. Are you ready to respond His Calling andwilling to die for Him? I know you do and committed your life to the Lord.Let's prepare our heart and life to be ready for the next step and the newlevel. Mary and Joseph are the symbol of the newemerging young generation. 3. Zachariasand Elizabeth Elizabeth (jElisavbet): God ismy Oath – Mother of the Prophet John the Baptist Zacharias (God remembers) Zacharias and Elizabeth are both Aaron's descendant. Zacharias and Elizabeth were from genuine priestfamily of Aaron. As we meditate them last week, they were old and had nochildren, so their circumstance was no hope, but they had kept their faithfaithfully in daily. They were growing old and the greatest blessing theycould imagine had been denied them. Childless, they knew their line would dieout when they passed away. All the priests' purpose is to prepare the road ofthe Lord. God chose them for the final purpose. They had thebest gift from the Lord, because they had been served the Lord with devotedhearts so faithfully. Not only their dream was come true from impossible, but also God had ordained them to fulfill a major role of the Lord's redemptionplan for the entire human beings from their time until today. Elizabeth and Zechariah were among the very first tosense the new chapter of the Lord for the new His Redemption Plan for theworld. After Zacharias encountered with the angle of theLord, Gabriel, the old priest Zacharias and his elderly wife Elizabeth werebringing up the young and vigorous John the Baptist, a true original who wouldprepare the way for Jesus. With unusual foresight, the old couple greeted thenew era with joy. In it they saw not the loss of their old order, but thefulfillment of their dreams. Zacharias and Elizabeth are the symbol ofthe new old generation, and also they are a good example for the barrennesspeople Lots of time we have been heard that God will useyoung generation in this time. It is true, but not the whole truth. Joel 2:28-29 28 "It will come about after this, That I will pourout My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons anddaughters will prophesy, Your old men willdream dreams, Your young men willsee visions. 29 "Even on the male and femaleservants I will pour out MySpirit in those days. According to this promisedWord of the Lord, God will pour out His Spiritto people for His Kingdom. Look at the people who will be poured out His Spirit; All mankind, your sons, your daughters, your old men, your young men, the maleservants and the female servants. God is going to use all races (no races), ourchildren, old men (old ages), young men (young ages), the male and femaleservant (no gender). God is going to choose the people who are devoted toHim fully whoever they are. Think of a time in your life when an "old era" endedand something quite new began: a move, a marriage, a new job or perhaps anexperience with God. What made the change difficult? What made it joyful? Howwas God involved? II. Retreat for the NewGeneration 1. Elizabeth's seclusion. Luke 1:24-25 24 After these days Elizabeth his wifebecame pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying, 25 "This is the way the Lord has dealt withme in the days when He looked with favor upon me, to take away my disgrace amongmen." 1) For the intimate relationshipwith the Lord. She was in the presence of the Lord and dealt withher disgrace among men that she had been gone through for many years, that iswhy she separated herself from the public and stayed in His presence intimateway for 5 months alone. We really need to spend time with the Lord deeply. We need the retreat time with the Lord alone in ourlife. We have to deal with all the issues in us thoroughlyas much as we can. I am not talking about to go to the deep mountain andkeep isolate ourselves from the world and to have deep relationship with theLord. I am suggesting to you to spend time with the Lordalone wherever you are. You have to make the time to spend time with theLord. The time is not waiting for you, but you have to makethe time for the Lord. Some people have been gone through some innerhealing, and they assumed that everything is done for that issue, but thereality is not yet, so we have to go through as much as we can and maintain itcontinually in the Lord. Many times people read the inner healing materials orattended the training or received a ministry, and they feel like that they arethe expert of the inner healing, and top of that they thought that they werehealed very well. But the knowledge brought them to misunderstandingfor their situation and become prideful attitude. We have to humble ourselves. God hates the pride and does against it. I Peter 5:6 5 You younger men, likewise, besubject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility towardone another, for God is opposed to theproud, but gives grace to the humble. 6 Therefore humble yourselvesunder the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, When we start to enter the intimate relationship withthe Lord, then the inner healing and deliverance will be happened to us, andalso we will enter the different level of the intimate relationship with theLord. My testimony: encounter with the Lord on July 1999. I was so hunger for the Lord, so I searched the placethat God prepared for me to receive. I have separated myself from the publicand have focused to receive more from the Lord since 1999. I did not focus about the world things, but focusedto receive more from the Lord as much as I could. I am hungry for the Lord moreand more continually. God restored the vision that He called me 37 years ago atthe end of December, 2000 through a couple's prophetic word. In January, 2001,God stirred me up my desire for the calling of 1971, and God led me to jump inthe ministry until today. How much are you hungry and thirsty for the Lorddesperately? Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when yousearch for Me with all your heart. 2) Her preparation for the baby. My life has been adjusted whenever I stepped in thenew thing. Like from a single life to married life, a birth ofthe baby in our married life. Recently my son married, and he moved out from ourhome to their new home place. I never thought about it, but I felt something that Inever had when I faced it, and also I needed to adjust myself in a new wayabout my personal life and relationship with my son, David, and mydaughter-in-law, Drexelle. Before my daughter, Joanna, and my son, David, wereborn, we prepared and adjust our life for them, and now we have grand son,Isaiah, also another baby is on the way. So we adjust our life for them and prepare for themtoo. It is a different level than my children. Elizabeth did not have an experience of the pregnancybefore, but now she became pregnant with her first child. She had to conceiveher child for 10 months. So her life became different than before in manyareas. She could not have the same life style and habit any more. She had tolive the new level. Also her physical condition is different than before.Top of that she was not young, but old. So she had to take care of herself. She could not focus on herself alone, because herbaby was growing in her womb. She had to develop the special relationship with thisbaby who was in her womb. This baby was moving, kicking and developingrelationship with his mom in the womb. So I could imagine that she spoke to her child whowas in her womb everyday and shared the word of the Lord to him with Zacharias. They touched their baby through the surface of skin of mother's womb. Theylaughed each other and sang songs to his ear¡¦ Same thing, for our life, we have to change our lifewhen God does the new things in our life. Sometimes it might painful or joyfulfor the new change life. She and Zacharias focused to prepare everything forthe baby. Our life is for our next generation spiritually andnaturally. We are conceiving the people in our spiritual womb, and One Glory Church is conceiving the world in our heart. 2. Mary's retreat Luke 1:37-40 36 "And behold, even yourrelative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who wascalled barren is now in her sixth month. 37 "For nothing will beimpossible with God." 38 And Mary said, "Behold, thebondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word." And theangel departed from her. 39 Now at this time Mary aroseand went in a hurry to the hill country, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house ofZacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 1) The great destiny of her The angel of the Lord, Gabriel, had a secret missionto give the message of the Lord from the Father to Mary even satan could notrealize. So Mary encountered with the angel of the Lord, Gabriel, secretly. She received the tremendous prophetic word and God'splan for her from Gabriel with the Lord's special favor to her about herdestiny for the entire human being. God released His Greatest Secret Plan to her that washidden for 4000 years since Adam's fall. Do you know what your destiny is from the Lord? God has a great plan for you and ordained yourdestiny already. Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before thefoundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love John 15:16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, andappointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruitwould remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give toyou. 2) Her sacrifice She said to Gabriel, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word." Several things that were caught up in her mind wereJoseph who was her future husband, her parents, her relatives, her neighborsand other related people when she heard God's plan over her. She could see the angry and disappointed faces of herparents included Joseph, and the pointed fingers against her from relatives andneighbors, and even the hands that hold a stone from the accusation people. But she laid down everything for the Lord hermarriage and even her life. She chose to obey God's Will instead of her own will. She made a decision willing to pay the price nomatter what cost for the Lord even her life. To follow Jesus Christ is not easy, but we have to gothrough the narrow gate. To follow Jesus Christ means to say "YES" to HisWill, but to say "NO" to our will. Are you willing to give up your will for His Will? You already gave up your will today, because you arehere for the Will of the Lord to have worship the Lord together and fellowshiptogether even you wanted to rest in your home today. I honor you all today. And also God wants you to go to the higher levelcontinually. Luke 9:23 If anyone wishes to come after Me, he mustdeny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. 3) Secure her destiny a) She consecrated herself Satan does not like that when you have a specialcalling from the Lord, and when you know where you are going. You will face the walls against His Will on your way. The first enemy is myself, but we can break the wallby our submission to His Will. The second enemy is the closest relationship with me.It could be my wife, my children and my parents. The third enemy is my relatives and friends. The fourth enemy is all others. Mary she broke the first wall through her submissionto the Lord, but she would face the second wall and other walls continually. That is why Jesus warned us. Matthew 10:36 36 and a man's enemies will bethe member of his household. 37 "He who loves father or mothermore than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Meis not worthy of Me. 38 "And he who does not take hiscross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 "He who has found his lifewill lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. Jesus is not teaching us to degrade our family value, but He teaches us about the enemy's work against the Will of the Lord throughour family. Mary's situation is never known to entire humanhistory before and after. She is the only one who conceived the Baby withoutman, and it is not understandable to men, and also impossible to human's view. It is the fulfillment of the word of Genesis 3:15about the "WOMAN." Genesis 3:15 And I will putenmity between you and the woman, And between yourseed and her seed; He shall bruise youon the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel." Her name was recorded at Genesis 3:15 in the Bible 4000years ago before she was born. As soon as the angel of the Lord, Gabriel, left her,she made a decision to visit her relative Elizabeth because of Gabriel's wordabout her. She knew that no one could understand her calling andwhat she would be going through, but according to Gabriel's last word she knewthat Elizabeth was the only one who could understand her, and Mary can share hertestimony to her. She did not stay with her parents to make themunderstand what happened to her from the Lord, but she chose to retreat herselffrom home and to spend time with Elizabeth. She knew that she needed to have very specialrelationship with Elizabeth, so she rose and went in a hurry to Elizabeth'shome. The purpose to meet her to secure her destiny thatGod ordained from the hindrance from the wrong environment. It is very important for your life whom you arehanging around with, what you are listening, and what you are watching. We have to come out from the wrong environment, because we are going to be caught up satan's trap and going to live theopposite direction of our destiny. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 17 "Therefore, come out fromtheir midst and be separate, and do not touch what is unclean; and I willwelcome you. 18 "And I will be a father toyou, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says theLord Almighty. b) She walked by faith with His Protection Mary lived at Nazareth, but Elizabeth lived the hillcountry, a city of Judah. It may be the city of Jerusalem or a city closed toJerusalem. Nazareth is locating at north of Israel, andJerusalem is locating at south of Israel. (Direct distance – 70 miles, road distance – 95 miles 1 day 7 hours by walking, almost2 hours by car) Mary traveled quite long distance, and it was notsafe to travel for a woman. But she did make a decision to visit Elizabeth andtraveled to south. I thought about Mary's travel – God reminded me Manoah'swife. Judge 13:24 22 So Manoah said to his wife, "We willsurely die, for we have seen God." 23 But his wife said to him, "If the LORD had desired to kill us, Hewould not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have let ushear things like this at this time." His wife saw the plan of the Lord, but Manoah has thereligious spirit. Yes, God's special protection was over Mary. So it is important to walk by faith when you receive theword of the Lord. It is your encounter with the Lord. She did not have any fear at all to travel to visitElizabeth. She needed to have time to spend Elizabeth who hadthe same experience of encounter with the Lord. Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible toplease Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that Heis a rewarder of those who seek Him. III. Mary and Elizabeth'sfellowship Luke 1:41-56 1. This fellowship was welcomed bythe Holy Sprit. 2. This fellowship was theSpirit-filled. 3. This fellowship was with Blessing. 4. This fellowship was with honor. 5. This fellowship was exalted theLord 6. Thisfellowship was fulfilled the purpose Conclusion These two young and old women' divine meeting wasmade a big history of the world spiritually and naturally. Their meeting was the greatest divine appointment forthe babies John the Baptist and Jesus Christ our Lord for 3 months. We do not know how they spend time together for 3months, but we know that the redemption of the Lord was well prepared for these2 babies by these young and old moms for these 3 months. These two women brought the greatest news for all ofus. Hitler, Mussolini and Japan emperor – the World WarII We do not want to see the handful people's meetingchange the world in bad way, but impact the world in good way of the Lord. We really need to open our heart with humble heart toaccept each other and need to be in the fellowship to build up the relationshipfor His Kingdom like as Mary and Elizabeth. We have a great potential to be a history maker, because God gave us special authority to impact the world for His Kingdom. Matthew 18:18-20 18 "Truly I say to you, whateveryou bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose onearth shall have been loosed in heaven. 19 "Again I say to you, that iftwo of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be donefor them by My Father who is in heaven. 20 "For where two or three havegathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."
