Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to Me, all who are labor (weary) and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

29 ?u>Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.?

We meditated about the eternal Sabbath Day several weeks ago.

The Sabbath day was a big event and important day through out the Israelites history in Jesus?time and even today in Israel.

One of the major accusations against Jesus was the Sabbath Day issue.

Even God gave the law to put to death (Exodus 35:2) if they work on this Sabbath Day.

This Sabbath Day observation was not found from Adam until the Israelites escaped from the Egypt (Exodus chapter 16) through the Bible, and then God gave the Ten Commandments during the Israel People’s wilderness time (Exodus 20:8-11). From this point Israel people have observed this Sabbath Day as the most sacred day among 7 days as the written Law of God even until today.

But the origin of the Sabbath came from God’s creation, so the Sabbath was started after the creation of Adam from the beginning of the human being.

I. The Sabbath Day

Exodus 20:8-11

8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work:

10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God: in it thou shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

?1. The 4th of the Ten Commandments

“Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it Holy.?/span>

?2. The Special Day

The LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

?3. Origin of this Day

For six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day;

?4. What they do

They do remember the Lord in this Special Day

They do keep it holy.

They do not work even cooking.

?  Every men and women even animals

?5. Meaning of the Sabbath

God rested on 7th day after the 6 days creations, and all His creatures entered His Sabbath and lived in His Rest as the perfect Heavenly Kingdom on earth,

The creature of the1st day of God’s Creation was the light.

The creature of the1st day was entered the 2nd day of His Creation

The creatures of 1st day and 2nd were entered the 3rd day of His Creation.

The creatures of 1st day, 2nd and 3rd were entered the 4th day of His Creation.

The creatures of 1st day, 2nd, 3rd and 4th were entered 5th day of His Creation.

The creatures of 1st day, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th were entered 6th day of His Creation.

The creatures of 1st day, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th were entered 7th day of His Rest.

Some people believe that God created the universe literally in 6 days.

I believe that God can create all things literally in 6 days because of His Omnipotent.?

But I believe that there is a meaning that’s way beyond than literal 24 hour creation each day concept.

There is very spiritual meaning for each day of creation through the first part of the book of John.

Shabath (tb'v;) ?rest, cease, celebrate, stop, remove, do not work, leave, observe Sabbath, cause to stop, put an end, abandon, silence, discard, settle, disappear, cut off, gone

Isaiah 40:28

Have you not known? Have you not heard that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not become tired or weary? There is no searching of His Understanding.

So His Rest means more than rest.

Even Jesus clearly taught us about the two Great Commandments from the 10 Commandments.

Matthew 22:37-38

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

Jesus gave us a very clear and important meaning of the 10 Commandments.

“Love your God.?This is the main key point of the first 4 Commandments from the 10 Commandments.

So “Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it Holy?/span> is more than the meaning of rest.

Holy means to set a part, separate, be consecrated.

During all of His creatures were living in His 7th day, God consecrated this 7th day and blessed this day for them as the eternal day of Sabbath as the Heavenly Kingdom on earth forever. God created earth as His perfect Kingdom.

There is no 8th, 9th, or 10th day, but the 7th day was the last day and forever.

All the creation that our God created is for Adam, and the Sabbath Day was also for Adam for the eternal life. God created Adam to live forever in the 7th Day, the Sabbath, in the Garden of Eden.

Mark 2:27-28

The Lord Jesus said,

"The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."

But this Kingdom of God on earth was distracted by Adam’s fall because of satan’s temptation. And the first Adam broke the Commandment of God, and the first Adam and Eve could not live in God’s Rest, Sabbath, place that is the perfect Kingdom of God any more. They were cast out from God’s Sabbath. At the same time they lost every dominion that God had given to them, and they became under satan’s oppression. Another meaning is that all of the first Adam’s descendants have been under satan’s power since the first Adam had fallen into the old serpent’s temptation.

This heavenly Kingdom on earth was changed because of Adam’s fall.

?6. God’s new Secret Plan for the Sabbath

God has started new secret plan for human beings since Adam’s fall. Also God has revealed His Secret Plans from Genesis 3:15 until Jesus?Cross,

Because of this new secret plan, God has been working for all of us through Jesus Christ since

Genesis 3:15.

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her

seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.?/span>

The woman is Mary, Jesus?mother

Her seed is Jesus included all His Generation. Christians

He is Jesus Christ

Crush ?destroy

Bruise ?hurt but not life threatening ? Passion and the Cross

John 15:17

But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.?/b>

Father God has been working for the redemption of all human beings through Jesus since Genesis 3:15 for the perfect eternal Sabbath.

God had been at work so hard for this redemption for 4000 years (if we count Adam to Jesus?Cross as 4000 years) since Adam’s fall, because He loves us.

God promised that He is going to send the Prince of Peace, and then He confirmed with His Zeal.

Isaiah 9:7b

…The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

That’s why Jesus came on earth, and died on the cross for us and poured out all His Blood and water from His Physical body to wash out all our sin, to give the freedom from satan’s bondage and to redeem us forever from satan.

Jesus finished the new thing, the redemption, on His Cross completely.

John 19:30

He said, “It is finished!?

So God’s new creation is finished 100% perfectly.

Hebrews 10:12

But this Jesus, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the Right Hand of God;

Jesus finished the redemption on His Cross same as God finished His Creation,

and Jesus sat down on the Right Hand of God the same as God did rest on the 7th day,

and Jesus prepared the Sabbath for all Christians.

John 14:6

I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Hebrews 4:10-11

10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

So the meaning of the Sabbath is to enter to His Rest the Kingdom of God forever through Jesus Christ by the Redemption Cross which Jesus?Blood. was the cost.

Whoever believes in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, we all are in His Eternal Sabbath the Kingdom of God forever.

Only this 4th Commandment, God commanded us to remember and Keep it Holy, but the other 9 commandments were not mentioned to remember and keep it holy but obey.

Same as Jesus commanded to His Disciples to remembrance of Jesus?Flesh and His Blood through the communion.

Everyday is our Sabbath Day, and we need to remember this Sabbath Day of Jesus Christ and His Blood and keep it holy in our daily life. We really need to follow Jesus Christ in daily.

We should not be a Sunday Christians, but everyday, because we are in His Sabbath Day forever.

III. Jesus? open invitation

  ?

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

I (Jesus) came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Our life is not easy, because so many things are required and it is very easy for us to get caught up with something. Especially under the current the economic situation, so many people live with worries and stresses. Young people life is not easy because of the all kinds of violations, pollution, diseases, climate change?/span>

Labor ?sin

Heavy-laden ?hopeless

Jesus?Invitation

He is welcoming everyone.

Come to Me, all who are labor (weary) and heavy-laden

Jesus?Promise

I will give you rest

Jesus willing to help you

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light

Jesus?Promise

and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus does not have any plan to give you a yoke to handle by yourself.

Jesus said, “My Yoke?/span>

He is going to share His yoke with us, and he is going to work with us.

Many times we try to do our own way ?fail

Jesus knows everything.

We just yield ourselves to the Lord, He will lead us perfect way.

Come to the Lord and rest in Him continually.
