Dreams &Visions Pastor Young Joon & Young Sook Park October 12, 2008 Albert Einstein travel episode Our life has the destiny. It is tragic if we not know what our destiny is. Unfortunately there are so many people do not know where theyare going. They are very busy to live day by day, but they do not knowwhere they are going. I. The faith of Vision 1. Receive the vision from the Lord Most people do not want to live without purpose; they made their own vision and desire to fulfill their vision. There is a person that Iknow, even though he lived poor all throughout while he was young, he still madea decision to be wealthy when he grew up, and he worked so hard at it and finallybecame successful. What is his next when he fulfilled his goal? When he finallyreached his goal, he actually became confused deep in his heart. People set their own goals and visions, and yet, most of the times they become confused when they finally reached their goals and visions. The vision should not be a temporary matter, but an eternalone. Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law. The vision was translated into a revelation in some of the versions, which means the vision has to come from the Lord. Around 4000 years ago, Abram followed his father's moving without any vision, but God called Abram and gave him the vision for his lifewhen he was 75 years old. He was not in his young age, however, God does not reallycare about the age, but He sees the people's heart who are really committed to the Lord and pursue the Lord alone, faithfully. When He finds that person, He, then, will release the revelation of the vision over his life. Lot of time I see people jump too quickly, here and there, by their own discretion without the Lord's guidance, and then quickly regret andchange their plan again and again. Another words, they move without any vision of the revelation from the Lord. The vision that Abraham received from the Lord was that Godwould make him a great nation and great name. The vision that God gives us is always a big plan, and it alsois impossible to accomplish it by our own strength and power. Do you have a vision for your life from the Lord? Yes, God has every one for the vision. I am talking aboutyou. Yes, God has a big vision for you that you cannot handle byyour own power at all. God gave me the vision over my life very clearly in 1971. That is why God opened the door for "One Glory Church" in Orange County today. 2. Meditate the vision We need to continually think of the vision in our heart whenyou have a vision from the Lord. We have to dream about it continually. You can see Abraham's life through Genesis 12 -25. During that time he was always thinking about the vision, andlooking for the right answer from the Lord continually. Genesis 15:5 And He took him outsideand said, "Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able tocount them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be." And I believe thatAbraham counted stars every night after the Lord promised when He took Abrahamout of his tent to let him look the night sky and count the stars. When we think, the vision will be residing in our heart, then we start to impregnate the vision in our heart, then it will become our desire to accomplish it. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. In a lot of cases, people were eager to follow the Lord from the beginning, but sooner or later, the heart with burning fire will fizzle out, and then people start looking for reasonswhy they are no longer on fire. Sadly many times, people blamed the leaders and other people in losing the fire instead of lookingback at his or her self thoroughly. And also they blame it on the fact that the programs or activities are not sufficient for them. The reality is that people do not focus on the Lord and do not meditate on the vision that God gave them. It's no wonder why people get lose the fire of the Lord. We need to rememberthat we are losing our eager heart like a fire for the Lord if we started blamingand looking for something else from our heart. Then we are going to off-track from the vision. 3. Believe the vision by faith One atheist teacher tries to prove that there is no God to her 2nd grade students. The teacher asked a little boy Tommy. t. Do you see the tree outside? a. Yes. t. Do you see the grass outside? a. Yes. t. Go outside andlook up and see if you can see the sky. a. OK. He returned a fewminutes later. And then he said that he saw the sky. t. Did you seeGod? a. No. t. That's my point. We cannot see God, because He isn't there. He doesn't exist. And a little girlspoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy. g. Tommy, do yousee the tree outside? a. Yes. g. Tommy, do you see the grass outside? a. Yessss. g. Did you see the sky when you were outside? a. Yessssssss. g. Tommy, do you see the teacher? a. Yes. g. Do you see herbrain? a. No. g. Then accordingto what we were taught today in school, she must not have one! We do not walk bysight, but by faith. Our Christian lifeis way beyond of what we see through our own natural eyes. We are not justliving for today only, but we are living for tomorrows as well. When we see the circumstances or environments, then everything will be tough and impossible Abraham was called with the vision from the Lord when he was 75 years old. God promised himthat he is going to be multiplied and he will be a great nation, so he has abig picture and great vision in him. But he did not have any child of hisown. So he tried to letone of his faithful servants to be his successor, but God said "NO." When he was 86, hehad a son from his wife's servant, Hagar. So he attempted toraise Ishmael as his successor, but the Lord said "NO." The Lord had a plan that only a son from Sarai would be a successor. God promised him togive a son from Sarai, but she was too old to have a baby. Abraham thoughtthat it was impossible for Sarai to have a baby. Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell on hisface and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to a man onehundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?" But he and his wifewere did not lose their faith. Hebrews 11:11 By faith even Sarahherself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised And then God gave him a son when he was 100 years old and Sarah, 90. 4. Speak (confess)the vision by faith God gave them the new names. Genesis 17:5 No longer shall your namebe called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I will make you the father of a multitude of nations. Genesis 17:15-16 15 Then God saidto Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. 16 "I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people will come from her." Abraham = the father of a multitude of nations Sarah = a mother of nations (princess) What do you do with the name? Yes, call the name when you need him or her. They call each other with the vision what God gave to them. They called each other everyday and many times, and then the vision was clear in their lives. The vision became their desire of heart through the meditation, But now the vision became their part of daily lives by confessing through their mouths. When I see each of you, I could see that you are going to be a father of nations and a mother of nations. I claim it over you. And I see millions of people are waiting behind each of you. 5. Breakthrough for the vision by faith The vision is not aguarantee that your life will be easy, and every thing will be well all the time. But we will go through the testing time because of the vision. Genesis 22:2 He said, "Take now yourson, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you." Isaac was the key to the vision of Abraham, and the Lord asked him to give his son up, the key boy, Isaac. He did obey the Lord by faith. Hebrews 11:17-19 17 By faith, Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son; 18 it was he to whom it was said, "In Isaac your descendants shallbe called." 19 He considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him back as a type. The vision that God gave us will be fulfilled, and this vision will become mature when we break through the test. Let's walk by faith together for the vision that God called us through One Glory Church. Pastor Young Sookwill share about the power of vision. II. The Power of Vision Everyone created by His Vision, so God has a wonderful vision for me. Catch the vision of God and hold on to it. The vision always comes with the progress. God has the biggest vision for the world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shallnot perish, but have eternal life. God's big vision is for the thousands of generations. 1. The wisdom of God has to do with the vision. There are 3 different words of wisdom in Greek. 1) Sophia = big picture of wisdom This word is used as famine, so this means more submissive word. We have to submit to the Lord in what God wants us to do. We need tosurrender to the Lord fully. 2) Phonesis = how to You can have agreat vision, but if you do not get this wisdom, then it will not be affected toyou at all. We have to know how to get it done. When we have avision we have to have this Phonesis. This vision always has a process; we have to hold on to the vision continually. If we lose the vision, we are going to lose a supernatural power. When we have avision then we are in the supernatural power. 3) Sunesis = networking Peter had a vision, and God networked with Cornelius for Peter. God brought him to Peter to connectwith each other. God will send someone to plug in for the vision. God's vision is foryou, because you are important to God. 2. Sensitive to the Holy Spirit Networking is coming, so we need to sensitive to the Holy Spirit, because some of them are not His Will at all. 3. Holding on to the visions and dreams Joseph He had difficult times from his brothers because of his dreams and visions. 1) He wasin trouble time; he spoke the Lord's name 2) He savedhis family. 3) The Messiah came from this family.
