Two different Anointing Oils

2 Corinthians 1:21

²¹ Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

You can find the word “anoint,” “anointing” or “anointing oil” when you read the Bible.

We keep hearing the word “anointing oil.”

What is the word anoint or anointing oil?

What does it mean?

How can we understand it and how it is related to our spiritual life?

Why is it that this anointing oil is very significant in serving the Lord and personal spiritual life?

Yes, this used to be a big question for me for a while.

I am going to share it with you through the word of God not just for you to understand it but to understand how you can relate that to your Christian life.

This anointing oil is the real thing of God’s Power through the Holy Spirit.

Through this anointing, you can have breakthrough by the power of the Holy Spirit.

There are many different kinds of anointing in the Word of God, and each anointing has different purposes and reasons according to God’s Will.

Isaiah 10:27

… and the yoke (of the evil one) shall be destroyed because of the anointing (oil).

Anointing with oil is like turning on a signal flare to the heavens.

It tells the Angels to give you special attention during this time.

The important element of the anointing is oil.

Oil is representing the Holy Spirit.

1 John 2:20

²⁰ But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit – receive power

Acts 1:8

but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

There are 2 different kinds of anointing oils in the Bible.

We cannot all be Pastors, Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, or Evangelists.

God anointed people with the Holy Spirit

Jesus had all this five function in His Ministry since Jesus Christ was the perfect Man on the earth. We do not have it like Jesus, but God anointed us different level, reason or purpose according to His Will.

I. Pure Olive Oil

This oil is the pure olive oil itself, and for the purpose of the personal reasons at home.

This anointing is used for the personal reasons and this is the Public decoration.

The pain is over, and there it no longer pain in you anymore.

The Purpose for this anointing is for the personal matter.

II. Holy Anointing Oil

This Holy Anointing Oil is to keep throughout the generations.

It is required to intensify for the consecration, separation and dedication to serve the Lord. The transition time and personal most position will be assigned for the Most High God.

Everything will be gone, but this anointing still exists forever even as the sacrifice system, priests system and all other system are abolished. It is the transcendence time.

The instruction of this Holy Anointing Oil

Never duplicate

Forbidden to make the similarity

This oil is made only certain way according to God’s instruction.

Anointing with Oil was a common Biblical practice, which continues today.  In the Bible, people, places and things were anointed with Holy Oil.  The ceremony of “anointing with Holy Oil” means to make Sacred, to consecrate or to set apart, and dedicate it for use unto our CREATOR.  Yeshua has a triple anointing as Prophet, High Priest, and King.  

The purpose for this anointing is serving God with consecrate, separate, devotion and dedication.

I. Pure Olive Oil

1) David’s anointing

2 Samuel 12:20

Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

Back ground of this verse

No longer live in the power of the past.

Our past was all kinds of suffering, pains, sorrows... and all of these pains were on going in our life, and this will be passed away through this anointing.

God will heal our mistake and restore it.

Vs 16 He could not get up because of the consequence of his sin.

¹⁶ David therefore inquired of God for the child; and David fasted and went and lay all night on the ground.

When he heard his baby’s death, he was no longer in the past.

Sometime we feel like there is no hope, trapped, recycle failure over and over again, it seems that there is no way out, but the pain season is over and the pain is over.

David’s past was over. He rose up and anointed himself, so he was shifted himself up to the new season.

It is time to stand for the public declaration and the liberation from the past.

The background of His Failure

His failure was that he was not in the right place from the beginning.

He was not in God’s Will and under His anointing. (2 Samuel 11:1)

Vs 29 David was resumed into his position and brought the great victory.

2) Ruth’s anointing

Ruth 3:1-5

¹ Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you?

² “Now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.

³ “Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.

⁴ “It shall be when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you shall do.”

⁵ She said to her, “All that you say I will do.”

Transition for the position and the fulfillment of the promises of God

Naomi is a picture of the Holy Spirit, and she guided and coached her life.

You need only One who wants you to success in your life.

Naomi is a picture of the Holy Spirit in our life. The Holy Spirit wants you to success for your destiny, and He is with you and guide you with the anointing.

You do not need any other’s platform because God prepares your own platform.

You need to have the great and intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit alone since God prepared your own destiny platform, and He gave it to you. You do not need any one in your life to fulfill your destiny, but the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the only One to fulfill your destiny.

The anointing oil was in Naomi, and she gave it to Ruth.

Without this anointing, Ruth could not have entered the threshing field to lie down under the Boaz that was her destiny over her life.

Her life was full of pain. Her husband was dead, there was no hope for her to fulfill her destiny, and at the same time, she was in persecution among the Israel because of her origin as a Gentile. She was a Moabite.

Nevertheless, her past was over and no longer with her anymore, but she was positioned into the new season and new level through the anointing oil.

She became a major part of the genealogy of the Messiah.

3) Lamp anointing oil: flow Facilitation

Exodus 27:20-21

²⁰ And you shall command the children of Israel, that they bring you pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

²¹ In the tabernacle of the congregation without the veil, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

“Command the children of Israel”

The word command is not always used, and usually used in place of “speak,” but this word was used as command, and it applies to everyone of Israel as God’s Commandment.

Moreover, there is no exception, and everyone should bring the pure olive oil to the priest.

Everything is not the same, but at the different level, so we cannot think or treat everything as the same level of each part of the tabernacle. The tabernacle has the three parts as outer court, Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. Each part is different level and different function.

This commandment to bring the pure oil olive is at very different level of His Will. In addition, it is mandate for children of Israel.

This pure oil olive was used burning light fuel for the lamp that is placed in the Holy Place of the tabernacle.

This commandment is the individual responsibility, so you have to maintain perpetrated matter from your life all the time and make yourself pure to the Lord.

Make a covenant with the Lord and connection as a body of Christ.

We have to have the connection as an accountability relationship.

Everyone has to participate and fully involve everything in His Church.

God wants everyone facilitate in His Ministry.

The facilitation for anointing flow will be through each of you, because something is inside of you, that is why you can serve the Lord.

So I do not need to find out from someone else to facilitate, but I have to submit myself.

Vs 21 The lamp wick should be elevated to be reach the certain level of fire, so God is interesting to lift you up to the certain level.

Conclusion

Today we need to receive the anointing.

Your pain is gone. God will reposition you.

Your destiny will be come to pass through the suffering, not because what you did wrong, but who you are.

It is time we need to commit to the Lord and serve the Lord.
