The Fear Of God (하나님 경외)

Proverbs 8:13

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;

Pride and arroganceand the evil way, and the perverted mouth, I hate.

여호와를 경외하는 것은 악을 미워하는 것이라

나는 교만과 거만과 악한 행실과 패역한 입을 미워하느니라

I. God is uniquely and awesomely

    (하나님의 특별하심과 경외스러우심)

Holy (거룩하심)

Leviticus (레위기) 19:2

  Behold because I, the Lord of yourGod,

 나 여호와 너희 하나님이 거룩함이니라

Isaiah (이사야) 6:3

  Holy, Holy,Holy, is the LORD of hosts, …

  거룩하다 거룩하다 거룩하다 만군의 여호와여

Pure (순결)

Psalm (시편) 19:9

The fear of the LORD is pure (clean)….

여호와를 경외하는 도는 정결하여

II. The fear of the Lord is thebeginning of wisdom   

    (하나님 경외는 지혜의 근본)

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom

여호와를 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근본이요

III. What does it mean to fearof God?

      (여호와를 경외한다는 의미가 무엇인가?)

There are times in the Bible when we told to fear andtimes when we are told not to fear.

성경에서 하나님께서 우리로 두려위하라고 하신 때가 있는가하면 또한 두려우하지말라고 하신때가있다.

There is a fear that helps and a fear that hinders.

그 두려워함이 우리에게 도움이 되기도 하고 방해가 될수도있다.

How do we know the difference?

우리는 어떻게 그 차이점을 알수있는가?

1. Helps (도움이 되는 두려움: 경외)

1) The fear is that expresses itselfin reverence, veneration and awe.

     (경외는 진정한 최대의 존경과 두려움을 수반한다)

Genesis(창세기) 17:1

I am God Almighty.

나는전능한 하나님이라.

A sense of the grandeur and majesty of God (하나님의 광대하심과 존엄하심)

O God (오 하나님),

How great Thou art (당신은 얼마나 위대하신지요)

Great in Power (능력의 위대하심과)

Great Majesty (크신 존귀하심과)

Great Love (크신 사랑과)

Great Mercy (크신 자비하심과)

Above all God is Great in faithfulness (모든것위에 그 신실하심이 크시도다.)

2) The fear is that keep safe

    (경외는 안전을 가져온다)

Proverbs 29:25

The fear of manbrings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORDwill be exalted.

사람을 두려워하면 올무에 걸리게 되거니와 여호와를 의지하는 자는 안전하리라

2. Hinders (방해가되는 두려움)

1) A fear hinders is described forus

2 Timothy (디모데 후서) 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit oftimidity, but of power and love and discipline.

하나님이 우리에게 주신 것은 두려워하는 마음이 아니요 오직 능력과 사랑과 근신하는 마음이니

Fearfulness, timidity, sorry, miserable (두려움, 위협감, 처량함, 비참함)

They came from within our own hearts. (이러한것들은 우리자신들의 마음 안에서부터일어나는 것들이다.)

Matthew (마태복음) 10:26,28

²⁶ Therefore do not fear them,for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that willnot be known.

그런즉 저희를 두려워하지 말라 감추인 것이 드러나지 않을 것이 없고 숨은 것이 알려지지 않을 것이 없느니라

²⁸ Do not fear those who killthe body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able todestroy both soul and body in hell.

몸은 죽여도 영혼은 능히 죽이지 못하는 자들을 두려워하지 말고 오직 몸과 영혼을 능히 지옥에 멸하시는 자를 두려워하라

1 John (요한일서) 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect lovecasts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is notperfected in love.

사랑 안에 두려움이 없고 온전한 사랑이 두려움을 내어 쫓나니 두려움에는 형벌이 있음이라 두려워하는 자는 사랑 안에서 온전히 이루지 못하였느니라

3. Do you fear something than youfear God?

    (당신은 하나님보다 더 두려워하는 것이 있습니까?)

Are you being ruled by the wrong kind of fear?

당신은 잘못된 종류의 두려움에 의해서 지배를 받고 있습니까?

What did the Lord require of Israel?

하나님께서 광야에서 방황하는 이스라엘 민족에게 무엇을 요구하셨습니까?

Deuteronomy (신명기) 10:12

Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but tofear the LORD your God,to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

이스라엘아 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 요구하시는 것이 무엇이냐 곧 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그 모든 도를 행하고 그를 사랑하며 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 섬기고

Joshua (여호수아) 24:14

Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity andtruth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

백성이 여호수아에게 말하되 우리 하나님 여호와를 우리가 섬기고 그 목소리를 우리가 청종하리이다 한지라

Ecclesiastes (전도서) 12:13

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is:fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to everyperson.

일의 결국을 다 들었으니 하나님을 경외하고 그 명령을 지킬찌어다 이것이 사람의 본분이니라

IV. Lesson (교훈)

A. The cup (예수님의 잔)

Luke (누가복음) 22:41-44

⁴¹ And He withdrew from them about a stone’sthrow, and He knelt down and began to pray,

바리새인들이 모였을 때에 예수께서 그들에게 물으시되

⁴² saying, “Father, if You are willing,remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

너희는 그리스도에 대하여 어떻게 생각하느냐 뉘 자손이냐 대답하되 다윗의 자손이니이다

⁴³ Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him,strengthening Him.

가라사대 그러면 다윗이 성령에 감동하여 어찌 그리스도를 주라 칭하여 말하되

⁴⁴ And being in agony He was praying veryfervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon theground.

주께서 내 주께 이르시되 내가 네 원수를 네 발 아래 둘 때까지 내 우편에 앉았으라 하셨도다 하였느냐

God’s answer was not to take away the cup, but tosupply the strength to turn that bitter cup into a cup of Salvation.

하나님의 응답은 그 잔을 제거하시는것이 아니라 오히려 예수님께 그 쓴잔을 구원의 잔으로 바꾸도록 힘을 공급하시는 것이었다.

B. Israel people in thewilderness (광야 속의 이스라엘 민족)

Numbers (민수기) 14:34-35

³⁴ ‘According to the number of days whichyou spied out the land, forty days, for every day you shall bear your guilt ayear, even forty years, and you will know My opposition.

³⁴너희가 그 땅을 탐지한 날수 사십일의 하루를 일년으로 환산하여 그 사십년간 너희가 너희의 죄악을 질찌니 너희가 나의 싫어 버림을 알리라 하셨다 하라

³⁵ ‘I, the LORD,have spoken, surely this I will do to all this evil congregation who aregathered together against Me. In this wilderness they shall be destroyed, andthere they will die.’ ”

 ³⁵나 여호와가 말하였거니와 모여 나를 거역하는 이 악한 온 회중에게 내가 단정코 이같이 행하리니 그들이 이 광야에서 소멸되어 거기서 죽으리라

Their fear will bear the consequences of their sins in 40 years based on the number of the 40 days as a year for each day..

We are moving into the spiritual realm.

우리는 영적세계로 들어가고있다.

We are moving into His kingdom.

우리는 하나님의 왕국으로 들어가고있다.

We are moving into His Promised Land.

우리는 하나님의 약속의 땅으로 들어가고있다.

Also God helps us that unhealthy fear not block theway.

또한 하나님께서는 불경건하고 건강치 못한 두려움이 우리의 길을 방해하지 못하도록 하신다.

Conclusion (결론)

Mark (마가복음) 14:62

And Jesus said, “I am; and you shall see theSon of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds ofheaven.”

예수께서 이르시되 내가 그니라.인자가 권능자의 우편에 앉은 것과 하늘 구름을 타고 오는 것을 너희가 보리라 하시니

Rise up, O man of God!

일어나라, 하나님의 사람아!

It’s time to rise up from fear.

지금은 두려움으로부터 일어날 때이다.

There is sense in which the King is reigning now.

지금 우리의 왕께서 지배하시고 계시기때문이다.

We can say with the utmost certainty, “Our Godreigns.”

우리는 분명한 큰 확신으로 우리의 하나님께서 지배하시고 계신다고 분명히 선언할수있다.

God wants to reign through us!

하나님께서는 우리를 통하여 지배하시기를 원하신다.

I urge you, with a fresh consecration of purpose, anddedicate yourself to letting Him reign through you.

나는 여러분들에게 신선한 성별의 목적으로 간절히 간구하며 하나님께서 당신을 통하여 지배하시도록 당신자신을 주님께 헌신하십시요.

Let us submit our whole being to God today with thefear of God.

하나님을 경외함으로 오늘 이시간 우리의 삶 자체를 주님께 전폭 복종합시다.

Prayer

O God, we bring to You all ourunhealthy fears and lay them at Your Feet.

오 하나님, 우리가 소유하고 있는 모든 건강치못한 두려움들을 지금 이시간 주님께 가져와서 주님의 발앞에 내려놓습니다.

Help us to develop such areverential fear for You that all other fears a quickly swallowed up.

모든 불경건하고 건강치 못한 두려움들을 속히 삼켜 버리도록 주님을 진정으로 경외하는 경외의 마음을 증가시키시옵소서.

In Jesus’ Name.

예수님의 이름으로 간구합니다.
