Isaiah 49:

* The Call and Mission of the Servant (49:1-13)

49:8-13

⁸ Thus says the LORD, “In a favorable time I haveanswered You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You; And I will keep Youand give You for a covenant of the people, To restore the land, to make theminherit the desolate heritages;

⁹ Saying to those who are bound,‘Go forth,’ To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’ Along the roadsthey will feed, and their pasture will be on all bare heights.

¹⁰ “They will not hunger orthirst, nor will the scorching heat or sun strike themdown. For He who has compassion on them will lead themand will guide them to springs of water.

¹¹ “I will make all My mountainsa road, and My highways will be raised up.

¹² “Behold, these will come fromafar; and lo, these will come from the north andfrom the west, And these from the land of Sinim.”

¹³ Shout for joy, O heavens! Andrejoice, O earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the LORD hascomforted His people And will have compassion on His afflicted.

Opening: Jubilee

Background – the year of the jubilee returnto his land and his people

Return from the exile – bring therestoration and the liberty

The time

Called: Year of the Lord's favor (Isa 61:2) The yearof freedom (Eze 46:17)

All debts will be canceled, Will no longer be Jewish slave, all the property will be returned to the original owner

Jubilee – Jesus came for this reason –redeem

I. God’s Restoration Plan

1. The special time andseason

Isaiah 49:8

⁸ Thus says the LORD, “In a favorable timeI have answered You, and in a day of  salvation I havehelped You; And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of thepeople, To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolateheritages;

This verse is about the time of His Favor and HisSalvation for His People and the Land.

A. Fulfillmentof this prophetic word

1) 536 BC Cyrus king of Persia – This was just a partial fulfillment of theword.

    Zerubbabelwith 49,897 Jews, servants and singers came to Jerusalem

    They started buildingup the Temple of the Lord, but it was stopped because of the interruption of theenemies of Israel for 15 years.

    Haggai &Zechariah they finished building the Temple of the Lord in 4 years

    (516 BC)   

Prophetic insight: Our enemy tries to stop us in many ways when westart following the Lord’s plan. I heard some testimonies on the difficult timeswhen all they wanted to do was serving the Lord. They never had such a problembefore they were serving the Lord. If you have the same or similar experience,then remember that you are in the right direction of the Lord.

Explain the meaning of this verse forJesus

In a favorable time I have  answeredYou,  

And in a day of salvation  Ihave helped You;

2 Corinthians 5:21-6:2

I tell you, now isthe time of God’s favor, and now is the day of salvation.

4) Jesus Christ – today

       HisDisciples – the covenant of the people

Explain the meaning of this verse forHis Disciples

In a favorable time I have answeredYou,

2 Corinthians5:20

Therefore we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making Hisappeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

We are Christ’s ambassadors who have the message ofthe favor of the Lord and His salvation to the world.

B. Main purpose

And I will keep You and give You  a covenant of the people,  To restore theland, to make them inherit the desolate heritages;

Isaiah 42:6

I am the LORD,I have called you in righteousness,  

I will also hold you by the hand and watchover you,  

And I will appoint you as a covenant tothe people,  

As a light to the nations,

Today we are as a covenant of the people for thesalvation, and we have the keys to open the door. Jesus gave us the keys.

2) To restore the landand to inherit the land

a)  Restore the land – Israel – freedom

b)  Inherit the land – possess theterritory

To restore the people and the land through His Favorand His Salvation.

Prophetic word – this year is a favorable year for you – God willanswer you. Restoration year

II. The Lord’s Promises

1. Gospel forthe Lost

Isaiah 49:9a

Saying to those who are bound, ‘Go forth,’

To those who are in darkness, ‘Showyourselves.’

Along the roads they will feed, and theirpasture will be on all bare heights.

John 10:10 He came to us to give the abundance.

Captives – Exiles, Jesus’ time people, today who arelost – evangelism 

We need to proclaim the gospel to the people.

We have so many different of barren heights in ourlife, but God will change our barren place to change full of abundance.

I believe that God is going to increase the anointingof the healing and deliverance ministry among us form this year.

The gospel evangelism and the discipleship will beall over the places.

1)    Healing anddeliverance – excelthe gifts of the Holy Spirit

2)     Discipleship – we have many teachers in Christ, butfew spiritual parents. We have so many famous teachers around us. Many peoplefollow them through many conferences, but they cannot be your spiritualparents, because they are not with you and they do not even know you either.The spiritual parents means a person who really have relationship with you ingood seasons and the bad, and take care of you to grow in the Lord and buildyou up for the Kingdom of the Lord.

The word “captive” or “bound” means prisoners indungeon where the place is dark and horrible. This place is full of torturesand horrible things. The prisoners want to come out, but they do not have anyfreedom at all. They are faced with the horrible tortures and death everysingle day.

There is no hope, but hopeless, sinful life, fears,worries, unstable, outburst of anger, jealousy, hate, immorality, enmities,strife, dispute, dissensions, factions, divisions, gossips, plots, deepdepression, destroying relationship…. Emotionally and physically we will bedamaged very seriously because of the tortures.

We do not even want to imagine about.  But inthe spiritual realm, non believers are constantly tortured by the evil spirits.

Would it be possible for you to enjoy your life inthese situations?  I cannot live in this type of situations at all.  Noone wants to live in this situation, but non believers are living only in thishorrible situation they realize or not, but also there will be the eternal hellwith eternal torture.

That is why Jesus came and paid off everything withHis Precious Blood and redeemed us from the captive and the dungeon forever.

So we have to reach out to them and let them come outfrom the dungeon, and help them to walk out of the prison.

The Lord gave us the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven to open the doors.

Matthew 16:19

I will give you the keys ofthe kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound inheaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

2. HisProvision

Isaiah 49:9b-10

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill anddestroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

1) Nourishment

2) Protection

3) Guidance

During the wilderness life of Israel

Because the Lord who has compassion on them led themfor 40 years with wonders and signs such as when He split the rock and let thewater to be gushed out for Israel people. Early in the morning God sent Mannafor their food, evening He sent quails for their meat.

The desert heat or the scorching sun could not strikethem down at all when Israel people were passing through the desert during theexodus time.

Their life was abundance from the Lord even in thedesert. This is the picture of our future.

3. Breakthrough

Isaiah 49:11

I will make all My Mountains a road, andMy Highways will be raised up.

Mountains are the hindrances along our path. When Iwas in the military I was in the deep mountain areas, which was very close to theDMZ (demilitarized zone) area. This area is surrounded by many high mountains. Onsome of the mountains, there are some roads, but for the most part, there wereno roads to speak of at all. Even if there were any roads, It took severalhours to go over one mountain with a lot of difficulties, and I had to take restsconstantly. Sometimes I took a jeep to pass over the mountain if it waspossible for jeeps. By jeeps, there was no time nor my energy wasted in goingover the mountain, and also quickly at that.

The Lord said that all of these mountains are allHis. Every hindrance in our life is not ours but the Lord’s. He will not only makeroads on these mountains, but the highway. Your hindrances will be changed asyour pathway. God is going to let you break through the mountains to reach out tothe other side.

What is your hindrance for your life right now?  Donot complain about the mountain.

To see the Lord how He will make the highway path onHis Mountain that you are facing right now.

4. Fruitful Ministry

Isaiah 49:12

Behold, these will come from afar; and lo,these will come from the north and from the west, And these from the land of Sinim.”

Literally the nation Israel

God brought Israel people to Palestine from all overthe places in 1948.

This prophetic word is for the restoration of Israel literally, and also this is about the Christianity too.

Israel people did not have their home land for centuries. One of the miraclesof Israel is that they established their country even they did not have theirhome land for centuries according to historians.

In 1948 Israel people smuggled themselves to the Palestine from all over the world west, east, south and north. Now Israel is very strong established country. Recently, we keep hearing about the war in Gaza. They will be the center of the media continually. Please watch what really is goingon in Israel, because these signs are part of the prophetic words, and we cansee the prophetic words come to pass continually in our time.

God will send people to us from all over the placesfor the Kingdom of the Lord.

Christianity

The gospel is spread out to the world in massive waysand deep inside of the land. Today’s media ministry is amazing way to reach outto the world.

TV, Radio, films …

War strategy

Before they send the troops in the battle ground.

1)    Collect all theimportant information about the enemy through the spy system

2)    Destroy thecommunication ability.

3)    Bombard the strongholdand important places such as air force base, navy base and all kinds ofmilitary base.

Then they send the ground troops to take over theterritories.

We are bombarded with the Gospel through all themedia all over the world. We do not know how many people believe in Jesus privatelyin the world. They could not reveal themselves as Christians to the public,because Christians are killed as soon as they find you to be Christians, particularlyin Muslim countries.

Sooner or later those people will be raised from allover the places, so I believe that this earth is getting ripe for the gospel,and we will see the global harvest. God leads us to prepare for this shortseason.

I believe that God will send people from east, west,north and south in Orange County, California, USA and all over the world.

So we need to get ourselves ready to accept thosepeople in our ministry, in addition to the needs of reaching out to the people.What we are doing is preparing for the time, so we need to be focusing on buildingup the intimate relationship and be discipled continually.

The practical matter to fulfill this mission is theCell Ministry. Our entire body is formed by multiplied cells. The cell startedalways one cell, and multiplied from this one Cell.

1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,…. These cells are connectedeach other and one body, and these cells have the life.

We are a Body of Christ that is formed by each one ofus, and each cells with each one of us and each church. Watch around you, thepeople around you might a part of this prophetic word. Invite them to your Cellgroup or church.

One nameless Sunday school teacher reached out one pooruneducated young boy one century ago, and this boy brought so many people tothe Lord and impacted the world. His name is D L Moody. Every oneknows D L Moody, but most of the people do not know the Sunday school teacher’sname.

Many people do not know Juanita Vinson, but lot of peopleknows Heidi Baker. Juanita is Heidi Baker’s spiritual mom.

 This is what the Lord showed me that God isgoing to send the people to us from all over the places. So we really need toprepare for the time that God assigned to us.

 I really encourage you to join the cell groupand catch the vision of the Lord, and jump in the stream of the world vision.

We are going to more focusing the Cell Ministrycontinually.

III. Conclusion

Isaiah 49:13

Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, Oearth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people And willhave compassion on His afflicted.

Rejoice always!

2. For the LORD has comforted His people

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Praise be to the God and Father of ourLord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, whocomforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any troublewith the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

3. And will have compassionon His afflicted.
